I documented my family's ice factory and business in Thailand over the summer. When I was young my nickname was ปั้นน้ําเป็นตัว (Phan Nam Pen Tour), which translates to “one who makes up stories.” This name referred to how ice is made. It begins as liquid, which is formless, but freezing it gives it form. This is similar to photography and storytelling. Both photography and stories give form, framework and meaning to life. By photographing the ice factory ---- the machines, the workers and the surrounding neighborhood, my intentions are to bring form and meaning to everyday life and reflect on my homeland. 

The body of work is a collection of large ink jet prints, gelatin silver prints, and a collection of short stories based on people who work and live around the factory.
